Gulf American Shrimp began out of a dream to bring its parent company, Wood's Fisheries, into a new era of commercial seafood.
In the late 1800's, Gabe Wood and his son, Daniel Elton called "L" Wood were the first to arrive, planting family roots, catching fish, and building boats. They pioneered the seafood industry of the Gulf Coast Region, paving the way for Wood's Fisheries to begin.
